Virti Wins Mayor of London MedTech Business Award

Virti picked up the startup award at the Mayor of London MedTech Business Awards recognising the best MedTech companies and achievements in the UK.

The awards are run by MedTech London led by the South East Health Technologies Alliance (SEHTA) in collaboration with MedCity and funded by the Mayor of London.

The award is in recognition of Virti's traction over the last twelve months in the MedTech space working with NHS trusts, medical and nursing schools and institutions in the US. Virti were also recently announced as the first ever ed-tech company on the NHS National Innovation programme.

Rajesh Agrawal, Deputy Mayor for Business, said: “London is home to some of the most innovative medical technology companies in the world. Not only do these businesses provide high-skilled jobs and boost our economy, they also develop lifesaving products. We know that our health service is under more and more pressure, so innovation and fresh thinking like this is vital”.

Phil Jackson, Project Director at MedCity, who was part of the judging panel said: “These awards demonstrate the scale and range of MedTech companies in the capital, that form part of our world-leading life sciences sector. One thing that stood out to me is the collaborations across industry, academia, the NHS, and patients, which has made these the innovative, successful products they are”.

Dr David Parry, CEO, SEHTA said; “We are proud to be part of the 2 nd Mayor of London MedTech Business Awards. We had a record number of entries from London-based companies and the competition was intense demonstrating the excellence of small health technology companies in the capital. It’s a primary aim of SEHTA to help such companies’ access public and private sector markets with their innovative products and services”.
